Das Keyword-Advertising, zu dt. Schlüsselwort Werbung, ist eine Werbeform des Internets (Online Marketing) bei der Werbemittel (Textanzeigen) auf den Ergebnisseiten von Suchmaschinen dargestellt werden. Die Besonderheit dieser Werbeform liegt in der Kontext-basierten Aussteuerung, d.h. die Werbeformen werden je nach Suchwort ausgegeben, so dass eine höhere Relevanz der Werbung prognostiziert werden kann.

Das Abrechnungsmodell des Keyword-Advertising basiert auf dem Performance Marketing, also der erfolgsbasierten Provision. Zu beachten ist, dass der Erfolg auf einer zuvor definierten Aktion basiert.

Durch die Aussteuerung nach Suchwort Kontext, sowie des Provisionsmodells biete sich das Keyword-Advertising mehr als Verkaufswerbung, als zur reinen Imagegenerierung an.

Die meisten Suchmaschinen bieten das Cost per Click bzw. Pay per Click Modell an.
